Wealthy businessman Mark Cuban thinks fellow billionaire Donald Trump "has changed the game" in politics – so much so, in fact, the Dallas Mavericks owner says he might just take a run for office too.
Politico reports Cuban, however, would operate a "far different" campaign than Trump.
"I love the fact that he has changed the game," he said, Politico reports. "[T]he idea of imperfect candidates with forceful ideas opens the door for a lot of people that would not have previously run."
Cuban says he's got no specific political office in mind right now, but asserts if he did get into a campaign race, "My positions would be far different" from the front-running GOP candidate.
Cuban — who is not now planning to run for any specific office — said he believes top American executives and entrepreneurs could "absolutely" hold their own in government and politics.
The basketball team owner has been a fan of Trump's run from the start — and said
he'd consider a spot on a Trump presidential ticket.
Cuban adds now, however, that would come with a big "if."
It's "too early to tell" whether Trump would be good at the helm of the nation, and he only wold be willing to serve alongside of him "if he promises to do exactly what I tell him to do. ... Otherwise, it's highly unlikely."
According to Politico, Cuban is hosting a Monday rally for Trump at the arena where his NBA team plays.
"Our arena is amazing and his checks will clear," Cuban tells Politico.
