Lindsey Graham said he thinks Marco Rubio is not ready to be president.
At a news conference in South Carolina Friday, Graham, who endorsed former Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush, was asked if he had considered supporting Rubio. Graham praised the Florida Senator, "I like Marco," but hinted he remains inexperienced to be commander-in-chief.
"I believe Marco Rubio will one day be president of the United States," Graham said, adding "but at 44 I wasn't ready to be president."
In his endorsement, Graham also took a shot at Donald Trump over his call to ban Muslims as part of a broader immigration plan.
"If can't think of a worse idea of how to fight and win this war," Graham said. He praised Bush, saying the former Florida governor has the right "temperament" to be president. "Last night (at the debate,) he said I will have their backs. I believe he will."
