GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump thinks his tough talk against the Islamic State is helping, but he is instead playing into ISIS's hands, says journalist Ted Koppel.
"The irony is they think they’re being tough on ISIS, and Trump thinks he's being tough on ISIS," Koppel said Sunday on
"Meet the Press." But, he said, "Donald Trump is, in effect, the recruiter-in-chief for ISIS. ISIS wants nothing more right now than to have the world divided into Judeo-Christian on one side and the Islamic world on the other It’s exactly what Trump is doing for them."
Trump on Monday called for a
moratorium on all Muslims immigrating into the United States until the government "can figure out what the hell is going on."
But Koppel proposed another plan: "I think it’s time we started thinking about what ISIS wants and then not doing it."
