Radio host Hugh Hewitt implored Donald Trump not to run third party if he doesn't win the Republican presidential nomination because he'll hand the White House to a Democrat.
Interviewing Trump on
his radio show Monday, Hewitt called a third-party run "nonsense," and offered some admittedly unsolicited advice.
"You will do better in the Republican primaries if you just swear off the third party because a lot of Republicans will never vote for someone who, like Ross Perot, will hand the election to a Democrat," Hewitt told Trump.

Trump pointed out he is currently leading the polls, and that the party has been treating him well recently. Trump threatened a third party run a few weeks ago when he felt he wasn't being treated with respect by the "party establishment."
"Well, my two cents is that you put a ceiling on yourself because a lot of people like me will never support anyone who dangles the opportunity of third party because it means the other side wins," Hewitt said.
"I’ve never heard it put so strongly, because you know I want to run as a Republican," Trump said. "But when you said it the way you said it, that’s very interesting, so I’ll be thinking about that."
