Hillary Clinton has "hate in her heart," Donald Trump said during Sunday night's debate.
During an answer that touched on America's crime rate, Trump attacked the former secretary of state's character.
"We have a divided nation because of people like her. Believe me, she has tremendous hate in her heart," Trump said. "When she said deplorables, she meant it. When she said irredeemable, to me that might have been even worse. She has tremendous hatred. This country cannot take another four years of Barack Obama. That's what you are getting with her."
Both candidates were at each other's throats throughout the debate, which began with a discussion around the disparaging comments Trump made in 2005 that were recently made public.
Trump's aforementioned attack on Clinton came after he mentioned her verbal attack on his supporters last month during which she said half of them belong in "the basket of deplorables."
