Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani stood his ground on Monday over comments he made during a heated disagreement Sunday with MSNBC contributor Michael Eric Dyson over the real threat to blacks in light of the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.
"The danger to a black child in America is not a white police officer. That's going to happen less than 1 percent of the time.
"The danger to a black child, if it was my child, the danger is another black. Ninety-three percent of the time, they're going to be killed by another black," Giuliani told "Fox & Friends" on Monday.

On NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Giuliani questioned why Dyson wasn't spending as much attention on the "93 percent of blacks in America," who he said were "killed by other blacks," instead of the grand jury decision in Ferguson, where a white police officer killed an unarmed black youth in August.
Giuliani also maintained police officers were in black neighborhoods because that was where the bulk of the crime took place.
Dyson responded by saying Giuliani was drawing a "false equivalency," and maintained most blacks who killed other blacks went to jail.
He also accused the former Republican mayor of using "the defensive mechanism of white supremacy in your mind" for why police were more present in black neighborhoods.
On Monday, Giuliani said he wasn't "even going to dignify that with an answer," and repeated that the reason he sent police officers in black neighborhoods was because the issue was about addressing crime where it was most prevalent.
"If that crime was in white areas, police officers would be in white areas. If it were Hispanic areas, they would be in Hispanic areas. I had no racial component to my determination of where to put police," he said.
Giuliani explained the numbers of blacks killed in New York City dropped from "thousands" to "about 200" when he was mayor, adding he would "like to see if Dr. Dyson has ever saved as many lives in his community as I've saved."
He said he accomplished that by "having to use police officers in black areas, where there was an astounding amount of crime."
Giuliani said the New York City Police Department used a "statistically based system" that the Department of Justice investigated and found it to be "perfectly fair."
It was "a fairly rare exception when a white kills a black" or when a "black kills a white," Giuliani said, and questioned why black leaders were so focused on the Ferguson incident, when there were so many murders in the black community.
"These people are spending millions and millions of dollars demonstrating. They have every right to do it. Why don't they spend an equal amount of time trying to straighten out that horrendous crime problem that exists?
"It depends whether you want to be some kind of racial demagogue, who I consider a racist, which is what many of these people are who make these things into, like they're the rule. Or, (do) you want to be fair and decent and really save people's lives?" Giuliani said.
