President Donald Trump has been starting his day later, around 11 a.m. now, to meet his demand for more “Executive Time,” which means time to watch TV and get on Twitter, according to a private schedule obtained by Axios.
Trump’s daily schedule starts with three hours of “Executive Time” in his Oval Office, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., but he mostly spends that time in his residence, according to Axios.
His first meeting of the day is an intelligence briefing at 11 a.m., and he has one or two meetings in his Oval Office during the day, but spends most of his time taking phone calls or watching TV. The president heads back to his residence at around 6 p.m., where he makes more phone calls and watches more TV.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump’s time in the morning, “is a mix of residence time and Oval Office time but he always has calls with staff, Hill members, cabinet members and foreign leaders during this time.”
“The President is one of the hardest workers I've ever seen and puts in long hours and long days nearly every day of the week all year long. It has been noted by reporters many times that they wish he would slow down because they sometimes have trouble keeping up with him,” she added.
George W. Bush typically arrived in the Oval by 6:45 a.m., and Barack Obama worked out in the morning before arriving at the Oval between 9 and 10 a.m., according to a former senior aide.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to Axios, syaing, "The time in the morning is a mix of residence time and Oval Office time but he always has calls with staff, Hill members, cabinet members and foreign leaders during this time. The President is one of the hardest workers I've ever seen and puts in long hours and long days nearly every day of the week all year long.
