Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump Friday called for prayers amid the
"horrible attacks" that have killed at least nine people and injured several others in a Munich shopping center.
"Our prayers are with all those affected by the horrible attacks in Munich," Trump said in a statement. "This cannot continue.
"The rise of terrorism threatens the way of life for all civilized people — and we must do everything in our power to keep it from our shores."
At least nine people were dead and several others wounded in shootings at the Olympia Einkaufszentrum shopping center in Munich, police said.
One of the dead might include a possible shooter, authorities said. Police said they were seeking three attackers.
Munich's metro transportation system has been shut down in the manhunt.
The shopping area is near Munich's Olympic Stadium, built for the 1972 Games.
Those Olympics were marred by a terror attack that resulted in the death of 11 Israeli athletes by a Palestinian group.
