Donald Trump's campaign wants the GOP presidential candidate to be better prepared for the second debate against Hillary Clinton and plans to drill him on "crucial answers, facts and counterattacks," The New York Times reports.
But whether the billionaire real-estate tycoon is "open to practicing meticulously is a major concern," advisers and others close to Trump tell the newspaper.
Clinton has generally been declared the winner of the first debate by both parties, causing concern that Trump needs major schooling in how to debate the issues.
The Times said advisers also "want to impress upon him the need to stick to a strategy and a plan of battle against a female candidate … rather than spend time polishing a string of disparate zingers that Mrs. Clinton, a skilled debater, was able to easily parry Monday night."
Trump and Clinton will face off in two more debates — Oct. 9th at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri; and Oct. 19th at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada.
