Congressman Doug Collins of Georgia said the Capitol Hill hearings on whether to launch a limited military strike against Syria have absolutely no blueprint for the future.
"It was just as disturbing to listen to what was being said and really what was not being said. There was no plan for what would happen in the future, there was no plan for what happens," Collins told former Congressman Allen West, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"You've got to have a contingency plan. What happens?"

Collins, a Republican who is vice chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, said he fears the United States getting plunged into a civil war far from home.
"If you have two people or two groups that are fighting and you damage one and you do nothing to the other, then you are putting yourself in the middle of a civil war," he said.
"You are influencing, so to speak, the tipping of the scale . . . At that point in time, what are we going to do to make sure, without putting assets on the ground, that those chemical weapons that are there are not falling into the wrong hands?"
Collins called the Obama administration’s foreign policy a "speech writing foreign policy."
"Let's give a great speech, everybody gets hyped up, that's our foreign policy. You know as well as I do, foreign policy must not only have rhetoric, but it has action. And we've not provided that, we've not provided very good rhetoric, and we've not provided action that others around the world could see," he said.
"We've not provided leadership … We're not standing up to two of the protectorates of Syria. Where is the president's condemnation of Russia? Where is the president's condemnation of China?
"Where is it that we are the super power of the world and yet we're sort of slinking along here not making a stand and saying, well, we're just being forced along at this point? That's not leadership. We've got to have leadership."
