Republican and Democratic presidential front-runners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton continue to lead their respective rivals by comfortable margins, a new
CNN/ORC poll states.
Here are the results for Republicans:
- Trump: 47 percent
- Ted Cruz: 31 percent
- John Kasich: 17 percent
The candidacies GOP voters polled would be most enthusiastic about:
- Trump: 40 percent
- Cruz: 28 percent
- Kasich: 19 percent
Among Democratic voters:
- Clinton: 51 percent
- Bernie Sanders: 44 percent
Democrats are less enthusiastic about a Clinton candidacy, however:
- Clinton: 34 percent
- Sanders: 40 percent

"Both of the remaining Democratic nominees top Trump by a wide margin in hypothetical general election match-ups, Sanders over Trump by 20 points and Clinton over Trump by 12 points," CNN reports. "Sanders fares better than Clinton against each of the three remaining Republicans, topping Cruz by 13 points and Kasich by 6. Clinton runs even with Cruz and trails Kasich by 6 points."
The poll of 478 Democrats and Democratic-leaning independent registered voters and 397 Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters has a margin of error of 4.5 points for the Democratic results and 5 points for the GOP results.
