Hillary Clinton amplified its attack on Donald Trump on racial issues, calling him a bigot, just as the billionaire Republican began a bid to win African-American voters, according to CBS News.

On Sunday night, Trump's campaign said the real estate mogul would make an appearance on the Impact Network, an African-American-owned Christian television network.

Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign recently aired a new ad quoting Trump saying, "Look at my African-American over here," accusing him of racial insensitivity. The campaign has also sought to link Trump to the Ku Klux Klan.

Recently Nykea Aldridge, the cousin of basketball star Dwayne Wade, was shot and killed while walking with her baby in Chicago. Trump tweeted about the killing:

The Clinton campaign quickly scolded Trump for politicizing Aldridge's death and not instead offering his condolences to her family, which Trump eventually did in another tweet.

"We just ought to be extending our sympathy to the family. That's the only reaction that's appropriate," Clinton's running mate Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., said in Miami Lakes, Florida. The previous day, Kaine told supporters, "Ku Klux Klan values, David Duke values, Donald Trump values are not American values."

At a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, Trump addressed the accusations from his Democratic opponent.

"Hillary Clinton is going to try to accuse this campaign, and the millions of decent Americans who support this campaign, of being racists," Trump said, the Chicago Tribune reports.

"To Hillary Clinton, and to her donors and advisers, pushing her to spread her smears and her lies about decent people, I have three words," he continued. "I want you to hear these words, and remember these words: Shame on you."
