Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 4 points in the race for the White House, the CBS News presidential poll showed Monday.
The final CBS national pre-election poll shows Clinton with a lead similar to the poll results of one week ago:
The breakdown:
- Hillary Clinton: 45 percent.
- Donald Trump: 41 percent.
- Gary Johnson: 5 percent.
- Jill Stein: 2 percent.
When respondents were asked to exclude the two third-party candidates, Clinton retained her 4-point lead.
The poll surveyed 1,426 registered voters. Most of the interviews occurred before FBI Director James Comey announced Sunday that his agency has found no new evidence to bring any charges against Clinton over her use of a private email server.
The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
