Two Fox News personalities responded to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's criticism of the channel's focus on Florida Sen. Marco Rubio after Rubio's third-place finish in Iowa's Republican presidential caucuses last week.
Cruz finished an unexpected third on Tuesday in New Hampshire, and
told reporters in South Carolina, "I'm looking forward to wall-to-wall coverage from Fox News with the news that Rubio got.
"It's always our fault, no matter who wins or loses," columnist Charles Krauthammer said Wednesday on Fox News Channel's
"Special Report." "But I think Cruz really comes out as the strongest non-Trump candidate."
Host Bret Baier noted that Cruz's third-place finish in New Hampshire was just as unexpected as Rubio's third-place showing in Iowa.
"He did finish third, and we did mention that it was a significant moment because New Hampshire doesn't line up for Ted Cruz," Baier said. "He expected more focus on that."
Panelist Ron Fournier said Donald Trump is by far the front-runner, but Cruz is currently the only one who clearly has a shot at taking him out.
"The vaunted establishment lane looks like it was built for clown cars," he said.
