Former GOP presidential primary candidate Carly Fiorina is considering entering the race for the Senate seat held by Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine, Politico reported.
Whether or not Hillary Clinton and Kaine win Tuesday's election, Kaine's term as Senator from Virginia is up in 2018, and Republicans are urging Fiorina to run for the spot, the outlet reported, citing unnamed sources.
She won't decide until after Tuesday's election, however, Politico reported.
"It’s something she’s taking a very strong look at," one source told Politico. "She’s not just name ID, she’s got serious definition. People have seen her, they know what she can do."
Politico reports there's speculation the former Hewlett-Packard CEO also could make a bid to become chair of the Republican National Committee.
Other Republicans believed to be interested in the Virginia senate seat race include Rep. Rob Wittman, former RNC chair Ed Gillespie, Rep. Barbara Comstock, former Gov. Jim Gilmore, Rep. Dave Brat, state Del. James Massie and businessman Pete Snyder, Politico reported.
