A group calling itself "Black Power Political Organization" is claiming credit for Thursday's horrific killings of five police officers in Dallas,
London's Daily Mirror reports.
"#BlackPower! #BlackKnights! Sniper Assassins Take Down Five Police Officers! And More Will Be Assassinated In The Coming Days!" the message posted on Facebook read, according to the Mirror.
"Do You Like The Work Of Our Assassins? Get Your Own Sniper Rifle And Join Our Thousands Of Sniper Assassins Worldwide In The Fight Against Oppression!"
The group's Facebook page, which had more than 300 followers, has since been taken down, although it is unclear if it was removed by Facebook or the group itself.
Whether the posting is a sick hoax or is real is not known. Authorities have not confirmed any political link to the shootings, the Mirror reports.
The newspaper claims the group had posted "dozens of statements on alleged racially-motivated incidents and threatening violent action" over the past several months.
A few days ago, it pledged 'revenge' for the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling — the Louisiana man repeatedly shot by police officers after he was pinned to the ground.
