Axelrod Took Over Debate Prep When Biden Was ‘All Over the Place’

Top Obama campaign aide David Axelrod had to take over debate preparation for Vice President Joe Biden because he was “all over the place,” according to Fox News.

On her blog, Fox host Greta van Susteren quoted an email from her colleague Ed Henry, who cited a senior Democratic source saying that Axelrod and other senior aides took over preparation for tonight’s debate when it was apparent Biden was “all over the place.”

“Word is VP a little rusty after 4 yrs of no debate,” Henry wrote.

Biden’s last debate was against Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin in 2008.

But Biden was able to get back on track. Henry noted that Axelrod and the top aides “did at least six prep sessions, and top Dems now say they are confident VP is ready to go.”
