End Judicial Misconduct Risking American Lives

Third time, it turns out, is not the charm. At least that’s true so far with respect to President Trump’s efforts to protect Americans from immigrants wishing to do us harm.

The president has exercised his constitutional and statutory authority to do just that with three different executive orders, only to have one or more federal judges block their implementation. There are a couple of lessons to be learned from all this:

First, leftist judges have no business countermanding lawful presidential efforts to restrict immigration from failed and/or hostile states. Period.

Second, the U.S. Supreme Court, which has already to varying degrees acted to correct lower courts on this question, needs to do so definitively now.

And third, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., needs to finish dismantling Senate procedural techniques that have slow-rolled the confirmation of Mr. Trump’s nominees to the federal judiciary.
