Following the latest jihadist attacks in Paris, French authorities have taken a long overdue step: They have started raiding mosques.

Three of them have been closed and reportedly as many as 100 more may be.

What has been found inside these supposed “places of worship”?

According to France’s interior minister, the raids have seized an unprecedented number of “war-grade weapons.” In addition, news accounts say the raids also discovered ammunition and terrorist propaganda.

As it happens, the practice of using mosques as secret arsenals, and even as facilities for jihadist training, dates back to Muhammad’s time.

The question occurs: Since we know that some of the more than 2,000 mosques in this country have been associated with actual or would-be terrorists, could those or other Islamic supremacist facilities also be serving as weapons caches?

We have a need to know.
