Don't Go Wobbly on Amnesty

Frank Gaffney By Tuesday, 24 February 2015 11:18 AM EST Current | Bio | Archive

Twenty-five years ago, then-British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher warned her American counterpart, “This is no time to go wobbly, George,” when it came to dealing forcefully with aggression by Saddam Hussein.

The same should now be said to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in the face of successive, anti-constitutional immigration edicts by President Obama.

Sen. McConnell yesterday signaled a willingness to try to finesse Democratic objections that have kept the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from being funded. Unfortunately, his approach would effectively assure continued presidential trampling of congressional lawmaking prerogatives.

House Republicans led by Rep. John Duncan are circulating a letter intended to buck up any attempt to go wobbly. Tell your representatives to hold the line on defunding Obama’s executive amnesty and other immigration travesties.
