Debate about state restrictions to abortion has come up in the Wyoming legislature in recent years. The state has fewer restrictions on abortion than many others throughout the nation, ranking at No. 34 with six restrictions,
The Washington Post reported.
Still, pro-life lawmakers in Wyoming have attempted to strengthen protections for the unborn, but without much success.
Most recently, in February 2015, a House committee in Wyoming killed a proposed bill that would require a 24-hour waiting period before an abortion so a woman could have a chance to review an ultrasound image.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Tom Reeder, R-Casper, said it was his hope that viewing an ultrasound would give a woman the chance to "see what she is carrying is not just a blob of tissue,"
