By    |   Friday, 24 July 2015 12:45 PM EDT

Perhaps monogrammed napkins, fancy linens and pricey favors seems over the top for many wedding couples, but there are some splurges that experts say make a big impression, even on a budget.

Here are some wedding items to splurge on.

1. Flowers
Upgrading your flowers to make a personalized ceremony is well worth your money if beauty is important, The Knot suggested. It sets the tone for your service and style.

2. VIP Lounge
Want to make your guests feel super special and relaxed? Set up a VIP lounge by renting couches and pillows and tons of candles, all set off by billowing curtains and a nice bar, The Knot added. Add to your theme with your celebration's special colors.

3. Lighting
"Nothing transforms a room like lighting," noted Bridal Guide. So if you want to deck out your reception, choose lighting for the night that gilds the room in the most elegant way.

4. Hire Professionals
Professionals to do things like make-up, videography and photography. Many brides say such peace of mind made their look and their day, Bridal Guide said.

5. Photo Booth
Include a photo booth, so your guests can mug for the camera and create lasting memories. The Knot wrote: "With some rental packages, you can get projections of pictures from the photo booth. So while your guests snap shots inside the booth, the images will appear over the dance floor for everyone to see — providing a great way to illuminate the room!"
