Vicodin is a prescription drug containing acetominophen and hydrocodone. It is categorized as a narcotic analgesic (pain reliever). Its primary use is to alleviate pain that is beyond over-the-counter medications and is intended for temporary use due to its addictive nature. It typically comes in tablet form and is taken orally. As with other prescription drugs, this pain reliever has side effects that vary from mild to severe.
 
The Most Common Side Effects of Vicodin include:
  • Dizzy spells
  • Feeling lightheaded
  • Constipation
  • Vomiting
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea

  • Hives
  • Wheezing
  • Swelling in the throat or mouth
