Venus Williams has been forced to withdraw from the U.S. Open tournament before her second-round match, due to an unspecified illness, reports Washington Post. 
 

31-year-old Williams was slated to play Sabine Lisicki, the 22^nd-seed Wednesday.
 

Venus was forced to pull out of two tournaments previously this summer because of a virus.
 

Williams beat Vesna Dolonts Monday at Flushing Meadows during her first match in two months.
