At some point in life, you have probably written your name on books, clothes, toys, etc. to show that they belong to you. The President of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan, took labeling to a new level when he marked his private island with an inscription of his name that is so large it can be clearly seen from space, reports
Yahoo.
The letters, which spell out “HAMAD,” took a special team weeks to craft, and each letter forms a waterway leading inland from the sea. The inscription measures half a mile high and two miles long, and is plainly visible from outer space.
Forbes magazine reports that Hamad, nicknamed the “Rainbow Sheikh,” is a very wealthy member of the Abu Dhabi ruling family. He is said to own more than 200 cars, which he stores in a giant pyramid, and has built a globe-shaped motor home that measures one-millionth the size of the Earth.
The 63-year-old ruler has also been recognized as a generous philanthropist.
