A man has come out to the press claiming that he was involved in the robbery and attack of rapper Tupac Shakur on November 30, 1994, reports US Weekly.
The attack sparked an ensuing feud between Shakur’s entourage and the attackers, ultimately leading to the murders of both Shakur and his best friend, rapper Notorious B.I.G.
Though both murders remain unsolved, the felon’s announcement gives hope to the cold case. Dexter Isaac, currently serving life in prison for an unrelated robbery and murder, says that he was paid $2,500 to ambush Shakur in NYC. Remarkably, Shakur was shot five times but survived the initial attack.
Isaac has apologized saying, “I want to apologize to [Tupac’s] family… I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.’s] mothers some closure.”
