Toilet Explodes, Life-Threatening Injuries Reported

A man was severely injured in Rockhampton, Australia, after the Porta Potty he was inside of exploded, the Courier-Mail reports.

Officials believe that the man, whose identity has not been released, was lighting a cigarette when something went terribly wrong and the portable toilet ignited.

"There was some sort of explosion," a Department of Community Safety spokeswoman said. "He suffered burns to his head, face, arms, chest and airways.” He was taken to the Rockhampton Hospital.

The explosion is being classified as a military incident and the official cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
