Texas Woman Welcomes 16-Pound Baby

Monday, 11 July 2011 03:31 PM EDT

In what may possibly be a new state record, a Texas woman gave birth to a 16-pound baby boy, Fox News reports.

JaMichael Brown weighed four pounds more than doctors expected him to weigh. It has yet to be determined if he is officially the heaviest baby born in the state but his birth has prompted an examination of state records.

"I can't believe he's that big. A lot of the baby clothes we bought for him will have to be returned. They're already too small for him to wear," she said.

Both the mother and baby are in good health and expect to return home soon.
