With summer temperatures climbing all over the country, people are finding countless ways to beat the heat. Sandy McMillin, however, was kicked out of a Eugene, Oregon, Wal-Mart because of her attempts to keep cool in the 90-degree Oregon weather.
McMillin put on her bikini and entered the mega-chain to pick up some sour cream, chips, and coffee creamer. She told KVAL News that within minutes, she was approached by a Wal-Mart employee who told her to cover up or get out.
“I was horrified. I am embarrassed....It's wrong. If you don't like the way someone looks, don't look at them....I hadn't done anything obnoxious or outlandish,” said McMillin.
While the bikini-clad shopper claims that she was escorted out of the store, Wal-Mart spokesperson Ashley Hardie told the news station that McMillin was never taken outside and that she berated fellow customers at the scene.
“We can understand her frustration. It was not our intent to offend the customer, and we have apologized to her,” Hardie added.
