Director Steven Soderbergh is making a career shift that involves leaving the film business and becoming a full-time painter, reports the
Hollywood Reporter.
“I’m interested in exploring another art form while I have the time and ability to do so,” Soderbergh told the New York Times in his Manhattan painting studio. “I’ll be the first person to say if I can’t be any good at it and run out of money I’ll be back making another ‘Ocean’s’ movie.”
The transition has been a long time coming as the filmmaker has been talking about retirement since 2009 and said back in March that he only had two more movies to make — ‘Liberace’ starring Matt Damon and Michael Douglas and ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ starring George Clooney.
