What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with a nice adult beverage. Here are five drink recipes from Mastercook, to get you in the St. Patty’s Day spirit.
Irish Whisky Cocktail
½ teaspoon curacoa
½ teaspoon absinthe substitute
¼ teaspoon maraschino
1 dash bitters
2 ounces Irish whiskey
Olive
Stir well with ice and strain into 3 ounce cocktail glass. Serve with olive.
Bailey’s Original Irish Cream
1 cup light cream
14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 2/3 cups Irish Whiskey
1 teaspoon instant coffee
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
Combine all ingredients in blender, set on high for 30 seconds. Refrigerate in a tightly sealed container. Shake well before serving
Flaming Irish Coffee
¾ cup Irish mist liqueur
6 cups hot coffee
2 tablespoons sugar
½ cup whipped cream
Ground nutmeg
Pour 2 tablespoons Irish Mist into glass. Rotate over flame of Irish coffee burner or alcohol burner until liqueur ignites.Fill with coffee; stir in 1 teaspoon sugar.
Top with whipped cream; dust with nutmeg. Repeat for each serving.
Gilligan’s Mint Mudslide
1 Tablespoon silver palate after dinner mint fudge sauce, plus extra to coat glasses
6 large ice cubes
2 ounces Kahlua
2 ounces vodka
2 ounces baileys irish cream
2/3 cup milk
Whipped cream
Maraschino cherries
Line 3 wineglasses with the mint fudge sauce. Place 1 tablespoon mint fudge sauce and all the remaining ingredients in a blender and blend until the ice is well crushed. Divide the mixture evenly among the glasses. Garnish each Mud Slide with whipped cream and a cherry.
Irish Shillelagh
½ lemon
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
1 ½ ounces irish whiskey
½ ounce old mr. boston sloe gin
½ ounce old mr boston imported rum
2 slices peach
Raspberries, strawberries, cherry, to garnish.
Shake well with cracked ice, strain into 5 ounce punch glass. Garnish with berries
