A 'Smurfs' Sequel Already?

Sony is already planning to release a sequel to their summer movie “The Smurfs” which premiered in theaters just weeks ago, CNN reports.

Despite overly negative reviews and competition from the high-budget “Cowboys and Aliens,” “The Smurfs” has been able to take in $135 million globally.

The film’s gross blew away initial expectations.

The sequel will open August 2, 2013
