Seizures can be prevented with some fairly simple solutions. These include doing yoga, breathing exercises, and by taking medication.
Seizure symptoms:
Seizure symptoms include feeling as though shocked by electricity, racing thoughts, tingling feeling, staring, stiffening, sweating, teeth grinding, tongue biting, breathing difficulty, smacking lips, falling down, and convulsions.
Prevent seizures:
Seizure prevention is possible by avoiding common triggers like stress, anxiety, fatigue, and bright or flashing lights. Research has shown that pranayama or deep diaphragmatic breathing, different yoga asanas or postures, and meditation improve the brain activity in persons affected by seizure disorder. Avoiding alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs. Eating a diet high in protein, taking magnesium and calcium supplements, and controlling sugar and carbohydrate intake are also some ways to help prevent the onset of a seizure.
Causes of seizures:
Anyone — from infants to the elderly — can have a seizure. The causes of seizures include genetic disorders, toxins, too much water in the body, fever, low/high blood sugar, a tumor, brain/head injuries, and degenerative disorders.
Seizure management:
Seizures can be controlled by following the instructions of a doctor. The type, frequency, and age of seizure patients are factors that help doctors in prescribing medications to control seizure.
