Scarlett Johansson to Star in Musical Film

John Carney, the director-writer of Once, has announced plans to introduce a new musical titled, Can a Song Save Your Life? that will star Scarlett Johanssen as the female lead, reports PerezHilton.

Can a Song Save Your Life? chronicles a young singer-songwriter (played by Johanssen) in New York City who meets an artistic man who has lost his way. Rumored actors to play the male lead include Jim Carrey and Mark Ruffalo.

Shooting for the film will begin in New York City next year.
