Christians believe that many prophesies held in the Old Testament of the Bible are fulfilled by Jesus. Here are five prophesies that Christians believe foretell the life of Jesus, as highlighted by various websites, including Jesus Central and Bible History Online.

Miracles: The Old Testament foretells of the joy of the redeemed when God comes to save his people. “Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy”: Isaiah 35:5-6 NIV.  The New Testament accounts for miracles performed by Jesus. "Jesus replied, ‘Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor'”: Matthew 11:4-5 NIV

Rejection: Christians believe that the Old Testament foretells that the messiah will be rejected by those close to him. “I am a foreigner to my own family, a stranger to my own mother’s children”: Psalm 69:8.  The New Testament tells that Jesus was not believed in his home. “Jesus’ brothers said to him, ‘Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.’ For even his own brothers did not believe in him”: John 7:3-5 NIV.  “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him”: John 1:11 NIV

New Covenant: The Old Testaments foretells a time when a new promise will be made to the people. "'The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah”: Jeremiah 31:31.  Jesus speaks of a new covenant during the Last Supper as told in the New Testament. "Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins'": Matthew 26:27-28.

Donkey: The Old Testament foretells that the messiah will appear, riding on a donkey.
“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey”: Zechariah 9:9. The New Testament tells of Jesus arrival in Jerusalem on a donkey. “As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, ‘Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me’”: Matthew 21:1-2 NIV.

The messenger: The Old Testament foretells of a messenger announcing the coming of the messiah. “A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God’”: Isaiah 40:3 NIV. The New Testament repeats this prophecy, saying that John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus.
“In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near’”: Matthew 3:1-2.
