Russian tennis play Nadia Petrova defeated Shahar Peer of Israel to win the Citi Open 7-5, 6-2,
Sky Sports reports.
"I have been waiting for this one patiently and I'm very happy to come away with my 10th title. It's a good achievement," said Petrova, who has defeated Peer in their last six matchups.
"I knew Shahar was not able to hurt me with her serve. I knew if I was serving solid I would be very difficult to break. It was an important match. I'm sure it's going to give me a lot of confidence for other tournaments."
The 87 minute match concluded when Peer over hit a forehand.
Petrova has not won a tournament since Quebec in 2008.
