After more than 250 episodes, Marg Helgenberger will end her 11-season run as Detective Catherine Willows on “C.S.I.”
According to the
Hollywood Reporter, original cast member Helgenberger agreed to return for Season 11 only when asked by executive producer Carol Mendelsohn — one more season would allow writers to script a proper exit for Willows.
Helgenberger told the Hollywood Reporter that she was happy to oblige Mendelsohn’s request. “The combination of the info and me having a hard time letting go of this show and this group of people, I said, ‘Yeah, I’m not done playing this character; I’m not done letting go of this group of people,” said the actress.
Mendelsohn added, “People come and go and come back, so hopefully when we say goodbye, that won’t be the last time we see her.”
Ted Danson’s character on the show, supervisor D.B. Russell, will reportedly affect Willows’ role on the CSI team.
