In typical fashion, Twitter users had have a lot to say about Ohio’s decision to move another step towards legalizing weed. On November 9, 2014, the state of Ohio officially decriminalized marijuana. Decriminalization is not the same as legalization; only four states (Colorado, Oregon, Alaska, and Washington) have passed laws legalizing weed for both medical and recreational use.
The legalization of weed means possessing, buying, and selling weed is not a crime. Decriminalization typically means that possession of a small amount of weed for personal use will get you a penalty akin to a minor traffic violation.
