A fire erupted at Richard Branson’s Caribbean home early Monday morning where Kate Winslet and her family happened to be staying at the time, reports
PEOPLE.
The actress, her boyfriend, Louis Dowler, and her children Mia and Joe, all escaped along with 16 other guests, uninjured.
The eight-bedroom Great House on Necker, Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands, caught fire around 4 a.m. during a tropical storm.
Branson’s son Sam helped guests evacuate. The house was “completely destroyed” by the fire, the cause of which is still under investigation. As of now, it is believed that lightning is the culprit.
Winslet’s rep later confirmed that the star was unharmed.
