Fourth Season of 'Jersey Shore' Premieres Tonight

Thursday, 04 August 2011 01:56 PM EDT

MTV’s “Jersey Shore” returns for its fourth season tonight at 9 p.m., and viewers will get to see the fist-pumping cast members connect with their Italian roots in historic Florence, Italy, reports the Sun Times.

This season of “Jersey Shore” takes the cast on a wild six-week adventure through the Renaissance capital where they explore all the city has to offer. According to Executive Producer SallyAnn Salsano, Italy was more than happy to host the hard-partying bunch. “It was ridiculous. There were fans everywhere we went. They had to close off streets,” Salsano told the Chicago Sun-Times.

But it wasn’t all positive, said Salsano. The cast members found that their famous routine of gym-tan-laundry was a little more difficult overseas, and that the Italian-English language barrier made communicating with the locals a trying task.  Not to mention the differences in culture between Florentines and the Bronzed Bunch—during an appearance on “Good Morning America,” the girls complained that Italian men were too skinny and wore tight pants, and the guys were not able to connect well with Italian girls.

But despite any challenges the Jersey Shore kids faced while living abroad, Salsano promises that this season will bring major entertainment. “You’ll really see them more together this season. I gotta tell you, I never laughed harder than I did this season in the control room, but I also cried more than I ever have.”
