The late reverend Jerry Falwell left behind a legacy of success when it came to shaping the world in the way he wanted it to be.

He was also the leader of the "Moral Majority" that unified people of different faiths in an effort to influence policy. That Moral Majority touted family, positive messages regarding religion, and emphasis on God being the focal point of home life.

Here are five of Falwell's positive message about home life:

1. "I personally feel that the home and the family are still held in reverence by the vast majority of the American public."

In his 1980 book "Listen America," Falwell pleaded his case that families still cared about morality despite a perceived lack of it in American society.

2. "God gives parents for the purpose of showing love to children, by teaching them right things, right principles, what to do, what not to do."

Falwell told Frontline in 2000 that "God is love" and that parents are an extension of God.

Falwell opened up in a 2009 personal interview with Relevant Magazine, talking about his home life with Kevin Rose, a secular student at Liberty University.
