Beware the Ides of March

Tuesday, 15 March 2011 10:26 AM EDT

What makes a mid-week workday even better? Knowing that it’s the Ides of March, of course!

March 15th has come to be known as the “Ides” thanks to the assassination of Julius Caesar and Shakespeare’s consequent play immortalizing his death. The play charts the rise and fall of the Roman emperor, including the famous line from an oracle warning everyone to “Beware the Ides of March.”

Many still consider the Ides to be an ominous date, so beware!
