The Great Lakes State offers an abundance of hunting opportunities with its lush forests and prairies. In an effort to enhance Michigan’s hunting experience, hunters should take advantage of these mobile apps and online resources:

MI-Hunt

The app promises up-to-date information and an interactive map application at the touch of your fingertips. Information about open private landing hunting is also provide via the app. The app is not downloadable, but is web-based and offered through the state of Michigan website.

MI-Mast

Michigan State University, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, offers this app that provides and collects information about wildlife food sources. Hunters can enter their observations about food sources they find and the information is used for wildlife management decisions.

The website offers a variety of sources of information of use to hunters, from trail maps, hunting guidelines, regulations, and licensing information.

HUNT app

The HUNT app is more generalized and available for all states in the country. Hunter can view landowner names, hunting unit boundaries, and satellite imagery. The app is available on iTunes for iPhone, and iPad.

Michigan Deer Hunting Guide

The Michigan Deer Hunting Guide app provides season dates; a lunar calendar, bag limits, game processors, and sporting goods store locations. The app is available on iTunes.

Huntforce.com

Huntforce.com offers Michigan hunters a trail camera option like no other. Camera locations and data can be loaded into the app and available at the click of a smartphone. Further information is also provided about the weather and animals that are reported for showing up near the camera. The app offers three levels: free, premium, and professional.

Whitetail+

Whitetail+ offers deer hunter’s information about what has been harvested and provides the opportunity to share information and photos in a forum environment. The app is free and is available on iTunes.

Smart Hunter

The Smart Hunter mobile app offers a variety of functions, from a journal option to alarms and video linking. The app is idea for waterfowlers and also provides hunters with instructional videos. Smart Hunter is available for iPhones and Android operating systems.
