The state of Wyoming is well-known for its rich natural resources, including game animals. Unlike many other states, Wyoming allows hunters to apply for their licenses online and to apply for multiple hunters in a single transaction, making it easier for friends to plan a hunting trip.
Fall is the season when most people think about hunting and there are quite a few animals that the
Wyoming Game and Fish Department allows for hunting during this season.

1. Elk
Elk is one of the most popular game animals in Wyoming, and this animal is eligible for hunting throughout much of the year. Hunters can harvest the elk in six of the state’s designated hunting areas during the fall, the WGFD said.
2. Deer
Both whitetail and mule deer can be hunted in Wyoming. Hunters looking for deer need to be careful about where and when they hunt the animals. The WGFD reported that they allow hunting in 14 hunting areas, all during the fall. However, the seasons can be short and special licenses may be required, especially when hunting on private land.
3. Moose
Hunting moose within Wyoming is an option in 20 of the state’s designated hunting areas. The seasons typically start in the middle of September to early October and run as late as late November. Two things hunters need to know are that hunting moose requires a special license, and it is never legal to shoot a cow moose that has a calf at her side.

4. Antelope
Another big game animal that can be hunted during the fall in Wyoming is antelope. Available for harvesting in 11 of the hunting areas, the WGFD’s website said the various seasons all begin in October and end in November. The number of animals for harvesting is among the lowest of any big game animals in the state and a special license is required to hunt for antelope.
