Dr. Cuddy Leaving 'House'

Lisa Edelstein who has played longtime lead Dr. Cuddy on FOX medical drama ‘House’ will be leaving the show in its eighth season with the expiration of her long-term contract.

 

“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead,” Edelstein said in a statement to TV Line.

 

Folks at Fox and NBC Universal have declined to comment.
