Millennium Films has acquired the rights to the best-selling novel “The Bricklayer” by FBI agent Noah Boyd and plans to make Gerard Butler the lead actor, reports
The Hollywood Reporter.
Butler will play rogue former agent Steve Vail who has been brought in to eliminate a criminal group that demands enormously high ransom payments for their kidnapped victims.
The film is Mark Gill’s first project since taking the role of president at Millennium Films.
“Enigma” screenwriter Hanna Weg is writing the screenplay.
Butler’s character will work alongside a female FBI agent, but no actress has yet been chosen.
