Country singer Gavin DeGraw has been hospitalized after being beaten early Monday morning in New York’s East Village, reports MTV. The assailants, who broke DeGraw’s nose and cut his face, remain unknown.
The singer was attacked sometime Sunday around 3:50 a.m. after reportedly drinking with a group of friends.
After the attack, DeGraw was hit by a taxi, but not seriously injured, according to a spokesperson.
He is being held for observation in Bellevue Hospital as police continue to investigate the assault.
Due to the attack, DeGraw was forced to cancel a Tuesday performance in Saratoga Springs, New York.
