Funny Cats: Top 10 Viral Videos of Funny Felines

The Internet has become a place for proud pet owners to post videos of their adorable and funny cats — with the more entertaining ones providing millions with a pleasant distraction.

One of the first in a long list of viral cat videos is the still popular "Keyboard Cat," in which an orange tabby in a blue button-down shirt creates sweet music on an electronic keyboard.

Uploaded by YouTube user Charlie Schmidt, the 54-second video has generated more than 38 million views since its June 7, 2007 debut.

Another video, uploaded weeks later by "The Cats Pyjaaaamas," on June 28, 2007, surpassed that total with more than 58 million views.



Rounding out a Top 10 of sorts, here are eight more examples:

3. "Cat mom hugs baby kitten" was posted May 26, 2011, by dragonmirnet86. It has received 57 million views, and shows the love a mama cat has for her kitties.


4. "I are cute kitten," from 2008, features a curious gray four-legged beast managing to squeak out of a number of tight spots, including a drainage pipe, a mailbox, and a coffee maker. The 46 million-plus viewers who clicked on the video were greeted with the words, "plz don't hate me because I are beautiful."


5. On Nov. 8, 2010, user JC Elliot, under the name "The Exodus First Baptist Sr. High Ministry," uploaded "Cats playing patty-cake, what they were saying...," which added amusing dialogue to an already cute premise. More than 20 million people have watched the cats engage in the popular children's game.

6. If you enjoy cat piano-playing prodigies, then meet Nora, who performed with an orchestra on June 7, 2009. Nearly 4.7 million classical music fans have watched.


7. "Stalking Cat" takes viewers on a 1:13-minute terrifying ride, in which a feline slowly tracks its prey. Uploaded on Sept. 7, 2008, the video has received 45.2 million views.


8. Cats are a playful sort, and some go beyond chasing their tail or a ball of yarn. Some cats play people games, as "Jenga Cat" proves.


9. On June 10, 2008, "Dramatic Cat" arrived with its unique brand of overacting, and 28.8 million viewers have tuned in for the show.
