Emma Watson, who rose to fame as the loyal and bookish Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, is set to star in the upcoming onscreen adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast.”
The fairly-tale classic will be brought back to life by director Guillermo Del Toro, according to “Crazy, Stupid, Love” producer Denise Di Novi. Del Toro has directed such projects as the “Hellboy” series and “Pan’s Labyrinth.”
For Watson, life after Potter has provided her with a new beginning. She told Vogue magazine in June that she identified so deeply with her “Harry Potter” character that she is “literally rediscovering what it means to be an actress.”
The actress was also recently named the new face of Lancôme cosmetics.
