How Diet Can Improve Your Joints

Thursday, 02 June 2011 02:07 PM EDT

Probably every piece of reading material that addresses how to improve your health talks about healthy diet plans. A good diet is especially important for your joints as they are prone to inflammation. Appropriate diet plans can help ease joint pains and strengthen the joints.

A diet for arthritis is considered to be a healthy diet plan that can improve your health in general and ease arthritis symptoms in particular.

Diet plans that offer help with arthritis emphasize a high-fiber, low-carbohydrate diet. These diet plans suggest that processed foods, foods containing trans-fat, and food products high in cholesterol and sugar should be avoided and be replaced with natural, raw vegetables and fruits, and baked foods. The diet plans recommend inclusion of whole grains in place of white flour or rice. This type of diet also facilitates colon cleansing and reduces toxicity in the body.

An arthritis diet should also include turmeric and ginger, which reduce inflammation, and the intake of omega-3 fatty acids found in fish and flax seed, which help regulate cholesterol levels.
